Mayor of Alachua Files Breach of Peace Complaint Against Grapski

Mayor of Alachua Files Breach of Peace Complaint Against Grapski

A hearing will be held Thursday, June 29 at 1:30 pm in Room 3B (Judge Seig) of the criminal court in Gainesville. Alachua`s Mayor Jean Calderwood has sworn a "breach of peace" complaint against Charlie Grapski and asked for his recognizance bond to be revoked. If that happens he will go back to jail. I was in attendance at the City Commission meeting when he was forcibly removed. The manner in which he was removed was more of a disturbance than his futile attempt to be heard.

Perhaps we need a workshop to clarify the rules and procedures followed by the city in the conduct of public meetings.

Come to the courthouse to show your support if possible. If not contact the State Attorney`s office (352-374-3670) and ask them why charges against Charlie have not been dropped and why it is that powerful people in the City of Alachua are able to file complaints against Charlie Grapski even while he has not been allowed to file any complaints against them.
