Cindy Butler Responds to Alachua Mayor

Dear Mayor Calderwood.

Please feel free to print the entire contents of any letters that you wrote me in regard to Mill Creek Sink/Alachua sink. I can not of course prove that I spoke to you on the phone because I did not record that conversation. I wish now that I had kept better records. It has been almost two years. What I would like to point out is that the City of Alachua was aware of the problems at Mill Creek and you can not possibly deny that. That was the point of the letter as I am sure you did not miss. The City and Wal Mart have both known about the issues for some time. I would have been grateful at the time I wrote those letters to have been able to speak to both organizations at that time. Your own City Manager refused to allow me to speak and address the problems.

My hope when I talked to you and wrote these letters was that it would be handled on a local level. I was taught to address problems with the person and groups that I have concerns with and if that doesn`t work to go up the ladder until I reach someone who is willing to listen. This is not a problem of my making. I am as concerned for the City of Alachua and High Springs as I am for the cave that I love. I hope now that attention and efforts are centered on this problems and that all parties can reach a resolution.

Thanks you for your time to view my letters.

Cindy Butler
