On December 8th the City of Alachua's Main Street was the site of the 25th Annual Silver Anniversary Parade, sponsored by the City and the Chamber of Commerce. Despite a very hard rain early in the day and on again / off again drizzle, hundreds of on-lookers turned out to cheer, applaud, gather candy, and otherwise have a good time.

Getting ready.....  

Judges Connie Griffis, Elayne Dubin and Eduardo VIllar  had a tough job narrowing the winners down to only three.  Tacachale won in the category of "Most Creative", and Greater New Hope Baptist Church was judged "Best Theme" of the parade and the Santa Fe High School Band was selected as "Best of Show."
