Alachua Women's Club 2001-2001 Officer Installation

May 17, 2001 - Nomination and installation of officers for the 2001-2002 year got underway with Barbara Engo as Chairman of the Nominating Committee.  Officers elected and installed by Mary Elizabeth Irby include Wanda Bryan Whitaker, President, Jean Claderwood 1st Vice President, Charlene Ringo 2nd Vice President, Ada Hagen, Corresponding Secretary,  Kristi Crane, Recording Secretary, Tina Prizament, Treasurer and Peg Dodson as Parlimentarian.

Entertainment for the evening was by Sunshine Singers directed by Jackie Brown.

Special awards were presented.  A Volunteer of the Year recipient  will be named annually. The award will be named in honor of Jack Bryan.  Jack Bryan was presented a chenille throw by Wanda Bryan Whitaker. A permanent plaque will be hung in the Club House and yearly winners will be listed.  (Wanda - tell a little bit about what the award represents and how it came to be named the James Bryan award)

The 2000 - 2001 winner was Barbara Engo.  Jack Bryan presented Ms. Engo a Choptal Candelabra

The Alachua Women's Club scholarship winner was selected from nine candidates and will be announced May 24th at Santa Fe High School..
