Mayor Coerper introduces Laura Dedenbach as new Planner for Alachua

I spoke with Laura this morning and this is what she had to say. "After I officially start we can talk about the particulars of the City Planner job. I have accepted a verbal offer from the city and am waiting to formalize the agreement.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida. I have worked for the County for about 3 1/2 years both in the comprehensive planning section and the development services section of the Office of Planning and Development. During that time I have been involved with the Evaluation and Appraisal Report, Comprehensive Plan update, plan amendments, zoning applications, and drafting and revising ordinances. I am also the Development of Regional Impact Coordinator, which involves monitoring existing DRI's,reviewing and processing proposed DRI's in the County, and reviewing proposed DRI's within the cities. I am involved with the County's review of the Alachua West DRI.

I am looking forward to finalizing things with the City and beginning work on June 14th. I promise that once I am "official" we will talk about planning issues."
