Deputy City Clerk Colin Whitworth was presented with a plaque of appreciation by City Manager Watson on his last day at City Hall.

Whitworth is leaving his position with the City of Alachua to take a job with Medical Manager, a software development firm in Alachua.

He said the hardest thing about leaving was telling City Manager Watson of his decision to accept employment elsewhere.

Whitworth said the City is advertising for applicants to fill his position. "Traci Cain will train the next person. I have shown her all of the parts of my job and given her all of the documentation that I created."

Whitworth brought a high level of organization to the office of Deputy City Clerk. He instituted structured filing systems, categorization of public records and revolutionized the documentation of commission meetings with his skilled minute taking and rendering. His background as founder and publisher of a monthly magazine provided skills that were most beneficial to the position he held with the City of Alachua.
