Alachua County highlighted in report
co-authored by John Crossman, President of Central Florida Commercial Association of REALTORS®

Orlando, FL - (August 30, 2007) – The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Summer 2007 Florida Retail Report, co-authored by the President of the Central Florida Commercial Association of REALTORS® (CFCAR), John Crossman, CCIM, favors Alachua County.
The report states that Alachua County will continue to have strong retail growth in spite of the negative residential reports. The city of Gainesville has seen a 6% increase in population over the last five years. This area continues to experience rapid growth and is expected to reach a population of nearly 252,000 by 2011. The unemployment rate has been around 3% for over 10 years. While there has been a slight rise thus far this year, the unemployment rate is level and expected to remain at 3% for the remainder of the year.
John Crossman, President of Orlando based Crossman & Company, states, "The strong fundamentals of Alachua County are low unemployment, relatively low interest rates and tourism. In commercial real estate, strong fundamentals are the keys to retail success."
