Congressman Cliff Stearns Demonstrates Immense Ignorance

Harold W. Saive

We heard Congressman Cliff Stearns on Classic 89 radio the other morning -- desperately trying to spin the story of Sargeant Chisolm`s need to protect his troops in Iraq with an emergency shipment of used vests from Sheriff Dean`s connections in Ocala.

Everyone else understands that the shipment of armoured vests was needed to re-inforce the "thin-skinned" Humvees wrongly supplied to carry out operations in a hostile Iraq.

Congressman Stearns, however displayed immense ignorance to field operations by claiming the soldiers were issued 2 flak jackets each --- implying that sending more would be an over-supply to the troops` armoured wardrobe.

Incredulously, Stearns previously harassed Sheriff Dean for mis-understanding the issue.
