IMPORTANT MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT

PUBLIC HEARING

OPEN GOVERNMENT COMMISSION 


The Commission on Open Government will hold its next Public Hearing on Tuesday October 16 and Wednesday October 17 in Kissimmee. The first session being scheduled is from 6-8 pm on Tuesday. Time allotted for presentation will be determined by the number of speakers, with a maximum time of five minutes per speaker. Click here to register, and to reserve time on the agenda if you would like to address the Commission.


The Commission has invited citizens with concerns, complaints and recommendations about public records and open government issues to present materials and testimony to the Commission, either in person at one of the meetings, or at any time via email or fax (see contact information below). 

Commission on Open Government 

On June 19, 2007, Governor Charlie Crist issued Executive Order 07-107 , creating the the Commission on Open Government Reform. The nine member Commission on Open Government was created within the Governor’s Office of Open Government to review, evaluate, and issue recommendations regarding Florida’s public records and public meetings laws. The Commission will review the public’s right to access government meetings and records according to Chapter119 and Section 286.011 of the Florida Statutes, as well as Article 1, Section 24 of the Florida Constitution.
