For Youth
Tiny Tots – The YMCA offers their Tiny Tots program to children walking to 3 years old and their parents at the Northwood Branch. The parent and child go through an obstacle course aimed to induce physical play and increase self-esteem of the child. Classes are offered Monday and Wednesday 4:30- 5:15pm Saturday 10 – 10:45 am. Parent's Morning Out- Drop your 3- 5 year olds off for a morning of fun at the Northwood YMCA. All Star Boys and Girls – The Northwood YMCA offers classes grouped by age and gender for children to learn to use all of the gymnastic apparatuses, develop physical self-esteem and overall body strength. Teens from grades six through ten are invited to the Northwood YMCA on June 28th from 6:30 – 11:30pm for dinner, swimming and a wide variety of activities geared specifically for their age group. Y Earth Service Corp- A nationally recognized YMCA program that engages high-schoolers in activities that promote leadership, environmental education and global awareness. Moonlight Basketball- The North Central Florida YMCA will host a moonlight basketball session on June 27th from 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm for children in grades 7th – 10th. There are numerous opportunities for anyone to participate as a YMCA volunteer, such as administration, aquatics, basketball, child watch, dance, front desk operations, fundraising activities, gymnastics, homework assistance, soccer, special events, t-ball, teen leadership and wellness programs. To volunteer, you must have a desire to help instill character development values in each aspect of the program you are involved in including respect, responsibility, honesty and caring.
